To paraphrase Derek Zoolander “What is this—a library for ants?!”
Not exactly, it’s better than that. Little Free Libraries are mailbox-sized, birdhouse-aping, community-building boxes that let neighbors share books and stay connected.
You can go in on purchasing one with people in your neighborhood, or download plans to build one yourself. The folks at Littlefreelibrary.org just ask that you register yours so that they can put you on the grid and let folks find it.
You can see a examples of some LFLs already up and running.
When we stumbled upon this idea, we instantly fell in love and have been crafting plans to put one up after we move (summer maybe?). I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but we’ll definitely keep you posted. ;)
